The movement, in plain words

Mysterious Code lists the Miyota 8215 for the Pilot Mark.

How it runs. An automatic that also winds by hand through the crown. Wearing it keeps it running.

Beat. It beats 21,600 times an hour, 6 a second, so the seconds hand sweeps in small steps.

Off the wrist. It runs for about 42 hours once fully wound. Take it off on Friday evening and it will have stopped by Sunday around midday.

Setting the time. The seconds hand stops when you pull the crown out, so you can set it to the second.

Accuracy. Miyota's figure is -20 to +40 seconds a day.

What owners report1 report on one topic

What owners report

Owner reports. Each covers one watch, so read them as things to check rather than a verdict.

From owners1 report

  • Reviewer found supple brown leather and visible blue-edged hands. He questioned whether the titanium-looking case was coated steel, so material remains unverified.
